Trailing for Adventure - An Oregon Trail LP

Post  E350tb on Thu Jul 05, 2012 5:19 am

All the cool kids were doing it, y'see. Razz

Basically, we're going on a little trip to Oregon, because why not? I mean, those pixels look like they're having fun, so why can't we?

Without further ado, then.

Now we just need a team. I need five guys to send down the trail, and I'm leaving that up to you fine gents (and ladies). How do we send to fun and dysentary?

Bjorn and Svelte Fuckhammer, and their eighteen half-walrus children.

I've actually beat this game at school at one point. I look forward to see the LP of it. I've got no name ideas for this though.

If Kiri's suggestion fits, then I vote for that. If all else fails, random people from the site can go on the journey to certain death wonderful adventure.

I slipped drugs in their food, and that somehow made them start LPs. Rolling Eyes

My Otaku tendencies will not be satisfied until I have suggested that the following go on a trip where they may possibly die of dysentry:

Clovis la Brittania - for using Nunally for his own ends. And for thinking he can steal Lelouch's spotlight.
Taisuke Sawanaga - for raping and mind-breaking Kotonoha.

So generally, I'm suggesting we put any Jerkass characters we dislike on a death trip.

Well, I had a look at the suggestions, and decided to combine them. Without further ado, I present...

Part the First: Enter the Fuckhammers

STARRING...
- Bjorn Fuckhammer.
- His wife, Svelte Fuckhammer, who I am assuming is a walrus.
- Clovis la Brittania, who is apparently a spotlight stealing manipulative jackarse.
- Taisuke Sawanga, who is apparently a mind rapist. I'm pretty sure that sentence put me on the FBI's watchlist.
- The motherfucking Duke of Wellington.

We're going to be Saddlemakers, because they don't get as much money and no bonuses and therefore satisfy my sadistic urges. Now let's go buy some stuff.

Is it just me, or does that guy have a claw on his counter? Also, I don't know what that red wheel thing is, but I want one.

Well, with shopping out of the way, we need to pick a starting month. I reckon July will do us well.

And now we depart! Hit it!

...

I reckon that about sets the tone for this, people.

And here we are at the moment of truth. To ford or not to ford? That is the question. We have two river crossings before the first landmark, so what do we do?

Float it. I just really want to see what the wagon looks like while it's bobbing downstream like that.

Ford it. Anyone who would drown in three feet of water just doesn't deserve to be on a hard-boiled adventure like this.

Man, that's not the Oregan Trail I played. It must be one of the latter revisions. Either way, we float down the river.

Well, the votes have been counted, and we are going to...

Part Two: Float Over The Three-Foot Deep River

Well, we made it without drowning, so that's a pretty good sign. Onwards, to glory!

Pictured: Glory. Also known as the Big Blue River.

Since I want to get to the first landmark by the end of this part, I'm going to reuse your votes on the last river and caulk over the two-foot deep river. Why? Why not?

Well, that was easy. Looks like our luck is holding...

FUCK.

Eh, just rub a Bible on it. We have a Bible, right?

And here we are at Fort Kearney. We have $12.00, and food comes at .25 apiece, so I'd recommend we stock up to replace what we lost. We also need more oxen, but we can probably last for now. We can also rest for a few days, if desired. What shall we do?

How does ONE thief run away with NINE OXEN??? (well, I can actually think of a few ways, but still...)

After food, maybe buy a couple of oxen? How much is an ox? And what could happen if we decide to rest?

@GG: This is the best theory.

If we have enough bullets, we should just man up and depopulate every state we come across for food. Cool

Okay guys, I've got some bad news.

My computer has come down with a very bad virus (I'm posting this from my iPad) and I won't get it back until Monday at least. My computer has both XP and 7 installed (what do you call that sort of thing? I don't know) and I was running Oregon Trail on the XP.

Guess which OS I've been told is basically unsalvagable?

Long story short, I may not be able to continue this Let's Play, unless it works on Windows 7, which I can't guraentee. I apologise in advance.
